Reflecting on 15 Wonderful Years at Punnet
Earlier this year, we marked a very special milestone – 15 years of Punnet Eatery!
To celebrate, we turned back the clock on coffee prices and served up $3.50 coffees for a week – just like we did back in 2009 when we first opened our doors. It was our way of saying thank you to the community that has supported us from day one.
Fifteen years in hospitality is no small feat, and we’re so proud of what Punnet has become. From our beginnings as a family-run strawberry farm to growing into one of the Waikato’s favourite foodie spots, it’s been a journey full of challenges, growth, and joy.
Running a business through a pandemic, a fire, and the general ups and downs of life – all while raising three young kids – hasn’t always been easy, but it’s always been worth it. What’s kept us going is our amazing team (many of whom have been with us for years) and the incredible loyalty of our customers.
Celebrating 15 years was a moment to pause, reflect, and feel genuinely grateful. We’re so lucky to be part of this community, and we’re excited for everything that’s still to come.

As the Strawberry Farm became more of a destination and as the little shop grew, we realised that the community needed its own gathering spot, somewhere people could spend time relaxing and enjoying life. Now a thriving eatery, we specialise in rustic fine dining, and love creating parties where you can spend time with your loved ones.
